Arsenal Signs Prolific Striker Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP

Arsenal have completed the signing of Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP in a deal worth 63 million euros plus 10 million euros in add-ons — making it one of the club’s most expensive transfers this season.

The Swedish striker has signed a five-year contract and will wear the number 14 shirt for the North London club.

“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Viktor Gyökeres to the club,” said manager Mikel Arteta. “His consistency has been outstanding, with impressive goal contributions at both club and international levels.”

The 27-year-old joins with an impressive reputation — having scored 68 goals in 66 league appearances in Portugal since his arrival from Coventry City in 2023.

Sporting director Andrea Berta confirmed that Gyökeres will be a crucial addition to Arsenal’s squad as they prepare for their preseason tour in Singapore and Hong Kong — where they will face Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur next week.
