Arsenal Complete Martin Zubimendi Transfer from Real Sociedad

Martin Zubimendi has officially joined Arsenal after the North London club activated his €60 million release clause from Real Sociedad.

The San Sebastián-born midfielder — who attracted interest from several top European clubs before choosing Arsenal as his new destination.

“My decision to stay at Sociedad last season was the right one,” stated Zubimendi regarding his rejection of Liverpool’s offer last year.

The Real Sociedad academy product has recorded over 170 appearances with the first team during his five-year career. His impressive performances in LaLiga and with the Spanish national team at Euro 2024 — including his stellar display when replacing Rodri in the final against England.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta reportedly played a crucial role in convincing Zubimendi to join, where he will reunite with his former Sociedad teammate, Mikel Merino.
