Arsenal Close to Finalizing Viktor Gyökeres Transfer for 65 Million Euros

Arsenal are finalizing the transfer of Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting Lisbon — negotiations have entered a crucial phase with the transfer fee reaching 65 million euros.

Arsenal’s sporting director Andrea Berta has held direct meetings in Lisbon with Sporting president Frederico Nuno Faro Varandas and their new sporting director Bernardo Palmeiro to finalize the deal.

The 26-year-old striker impressed last season with 54 goals in 52 appearances across all competitions for Sporting — making him Mikel Arteta’s primary target for Arsenal’s attack.

Arsenal are also considering wing reinforcements by targeting Noni Madueke from Chelsea and Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace. However, the club needs to offload several players including Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jakub Kiwior, Reiss Nelson, or Leandro Trossard to fund additional transfers.

The club has secured Christian Nørgaard from Brentford and completed transfers for Martín Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga, while extending contracts for Gabriel and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
