Arsenal have officially announced the contract expiration of Japanese international defender Takehiro Tomiyasu — ending his four-year stint at the North London club.

During his time with The Gunners, the injury-prone Tomiyasu managed to make 84 appearances across all competitions. The club released an official statement:

“Everyone at Arsenal Football Club would like to thank Tomi for his contribution to the club and we wish him and his family all the best for the future.”

Tomiyasu’s departure is part of Arsenal’s squad overhaul this summer.

Players who have also left the club:

  • Jorginho
  • Thomas Partey
  • Kieran Tierney
  • Nuno Tavares
  • Marquinhos

Arsenal are reportedly in talks with Brentford to acquire midfielder Christian Nørgaard, while Martín Zubimendi is confirmed to join the club.
