Arema FC Won’t Maximize 11 Foreign Players Quota in Liga 1

According to Bolasport.com, Yusrinal Fitriandi as Arema FC General Manager responded to the new regulations regarding foreign player quota in Liga 1 which now allows registration of up to 11 players.

This decision was announced by PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) after holding a General Meeting of Shareholders in Jakarta — just two days ago.

“Previously we saw 8 players registered and 6 playing,” stated Ferry Paulus, President Director of PT LIB.

“Clubs felt that was somewhat limiting. Moreover, we have the desire to perform in Asia. That’s why the registration limit is now 11,” he added.

The new regulation will be implemented for the 2025-2026 Liga 1 season — providing clubs with more flexibility in managing their foreign player composition.
