Aprilia ready to take Jorge Martin contract case to court

Tensions between Jorge Martin and Aprilia Racing have resurfaced regarding his contract status for the 2026 season. Aprilia Racing CEO, Massimo Rivola, denies the statement from Martin’s manager claiming his rider will be free from contract.

“Martin clearly won’t be free in 2026 — if we have to go to court, the judge will decide,” Rivola stated when interviewed by TNT Sports during the Dutch MotoGP.

The 2024 MotoGP world champion joined Aprilia from Pramac Ducati on a two-year contract. Speculation about Martin’s future began emerging after the Qatar MotoGP incident — the Spanish rider hasn’t returned to the track since the accident at Lusail Circuit.

Albert Valera, Martin’s personal manager, previously stated his client was free to move to another team in 2026. However, Rivola remains calm facing this situation — his side is ready to pursue legal channels if necessary.
