Apple’s F1 film with Brad Pitt shatters global box office records

Apple Original Films’ Formula 1 movie starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris has achieved an impressive $144 million in its global debut — collecting $55.6 million domestically and $88.4 million internationally.

Under Joseph Kosinski’s direction, this summer blockbuster breaks records as Apple Original’s highest-grossing film — surpassing previous releases like Killers of the Flower Moon and Napoleon, which earned only $23.2 million and $20.6 million respectively.

“The film’s outstanding debut reflects both the excitement of Formula 1 and the deeply emotional and entertaining story crafted by the entire creative team,” said Zack Van Amburg, Apple’s worldwide video head.

IMAX format proved to be a major attraction — accounting for 23% of North American ticket sales with $12.8 million in revenue. Rich Gelfond, IMAX CEO, emphasizes that the technology used in this film delivers the most realistic racing sequences ever captured on screen.

With momentum building toward the July 4th holiday, the F1 film’s box office performance is expected to continue climbing.
