Antony Rises at Real Betis after Difficult Manchester United Spell

Antony appears to be rediscovering his best form at Real Betis, following a challenging stint at Manchester United, where he struggled to meet expectations after a €100 million transfer from Ajax.

Pellegrini praises Antony’s determination

Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini acknowledged the winger’s motivation to prove himself.

He wanted revenge and at Betis I think he got it. It’s not easy to play as a €100-million player. Antony is a very good player and I’m sure this is the right time for him to improve his career,” said Pellegrini.

Since arriving in LaLiga, the 25-year-old Brazilian has scored five goals in 17 appearances, equaling his total league goals at United over two and a half seasons. He has also added four goals in Betis’ run to the UEFA Conference League final.

Focus shifts to Conference League final

Although Betis would like to sign Antony permanently, financial limitations may prove challenging. For now, the focus is on the Conference League final against Chelsea, set to take place in Wrocław.

“We don’t think we are David against Goliath. On the pitch for 90 minutes, we have the same chance to win the game,” said Pellegrini.

Isco backs team to make history

Club captain Isco expressed full confidence in the squad ahead of the final.

We believe in ourselves. Betis can beat any team, including Chelsea,” said Isco, as the club aims for its first-ever European title.
