Antonio Costa Presents Ronaldo-Signed Portugal Jersey to Trump

European Council President Antonio Costa presented a Portugal jersey signed by Cristiano Ronaldo to US President Donald Trump during the G7 summit in Kananaskis, Alberta.

Costa — who has served as European Council President since last year — handed over the No.7 jersey during a private meeting with Trump. The special message written on the jersey reads:

“To president Donald J. Trump, Playing for Peace.”

The 79-year-old Trump responded to the gift by saying:

“I like it, playing for peace.”

Cristiano Ronaldo — the five-time Ballon d’Or winner currently playing for Al Nassr — is the all-time leading scorer in international football with 138 goals. The 40-year-old star is expected to represent Portugal at next year’s World Cup, which will be hosted jointly by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
