Anthony Ginting loses in comeback match at Japan Open 2025

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting experienced his first defeat against Kodai Naraoka at Japan Open 2025 held at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium on Wednesday (16/7/2025).

The Indonesian singles player and Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medalist — succumbed to his opponent with scores of 13-21, 19-21 in a 52-minute match.

Despite losing in the round of 32, the SGS PLN Bandung athlete — maintains a positive outlook on his comeback match after a six-month injury absence.

“This was just my comeback match, so the result wasn’t optimal. However, I could still feel good touch in my game,” said Ginting.
