Ansu Fati Joins Monaco on Loan Deal from Barcelona

Ansu Fati has officially joined AS Monaco on a season-long loan from Barcelona for the 2025-26 campaign. The Catalan club also announced Fati’s contract extension until the end of the 2027-28 season.

The agreement includes an option for Monaco to convert the loan into a permanent transfer next summer — depending on the player’s performance in Ligue 1.

Fati’s decision to move to France stems from his desire for more playing time and Champions League opportunities. Over the past 12 months, the Spanish forward has made only 11 appearances under Hansi Flick — with just three starts.

After an impressive debut at age 16 in 2019, Fati’s career faced setbacks due to a series of injuries. Last season, he was loaned to Brighton where he scored four goals in 27 matches.

  • Total 29 goals in 123 appearances for Barcelona
  • Record holder for youngest Champions League goalscorer
  • 10 caps with Spanish national team with 2 goals
