Ankle Injury Rules Echeverri Out of 2025 Club World Cup

According to Manchester City’s official website, Claudio Echeverri sustained a serious ankle injury during the match against Al Ain in the 2025 Club World Cup — forcing the Argentine wonderkid to miss the remainder of the tournament.

“Echeverri has an ankle problem. We all feel sorry for him,” stated manager Pep Guardiola.

After the match, Echeverri was seen using two crutches to help him walk during team training session. The talented young player joined Manchester City in January 2024 — but was immediately loaned to River Plate for one year.
