Ankle Injury Forces Echeverri to Miss Manchester City vs Juventus Clash

Claudio Echeverri is undergoing medical assessment at Manchester City after sustaining an ankle injury during the match against Al Ain — forcing the young player to use crutches and a protective boot.

The Argentine midfielder had just marked a historic moment by scoring his first City goal through a beautiful free kick in the 6-0 victory over Al Ain in Atlanta. However, an injury in the first half forced his withdrawal.

Echeverri has been unable to train with Pep Guardiola’s squad at their Club World Cup base in Boca Raton, Florida — indicating he will miss the Group G decider against Juventus in Orlando.

This injury comes as a setback for the 19-year-old who only joined City from River Plate in January. After being loaned back to Argentina, he finally joined the first team in February and made his debut in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace last month.
