Angel Correa leaves Atletico Madrid to join Tigres UANL

Angel Correa ends his 10-year journey with Atletico Madrid to join Liga MX club Tigres UANL — both clubs have reached a transfer agreement for the right-wing player.

During his career in the Spanish capital, the Argentine player recorded impressive statistics — 88 goals and 65 assists in 469 appearances. Correa played a crucial role in Atletico’s success in winning the La Liga title in the 2020-21 season and reaching the Champions League final in 2016.

Correa’s final appearance for Los Rojiblancos came in the Club World Cup, where his team failed to advance from the group stage. Tigres, the club based in Monterrey, has not revealed the details of the transfer agreement.

The 30-year-old player has a collection of prestigious trophies — World Cup 2022 and Copa America 2021 champion with Argentina national team, as well as Europa League and European Super Cup 2018 with Atletico Madrid.
