Angel City FC Distributes 10,000 Shirts Supporting Immigrants in Los Angeles

Angel City FC demonstrated support for Los Angeles’ immigrant community by distributing 10,000 shirts to fans last Saturday. The shirts featured “Immigrant City Football Club” on the front and “Los Angeles is for Everyone” in both English and Spanish on the back.

Players and coaching staff of Angel City FC wore the shirts before their match against North Carolina Courage — a show of solidarity with immigrants targeted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations.

This action followed protests against immigration policies that prompted National Guard and Marine troops deployment in Los Angeles. Through social media, the club affirmed — Los Angeles grows stronger through its diversity.

“We are heartbroken by the fear and uncertainty many in our Los Angeles community are feeling right now,” the club statement read.

The NWSL and WNBA players unions also expressed support through a joint statement:

“We stand with all people seeking safety, dignity, and opportunity, no matter where they come from or where they hope to go.”
