Andy Roddick Thinks Djokovic Still Got It for Wimbledon

Former tennis star Andy Roddick has warned critics not to sleep on Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon this year, despite his recent slump.

The American pro stated that Wimbledon could be Djokovic’s strongest event, where he has historically performed brilliantly. Even though the 38-year-old has missed six straight major tournaments, he still shows he can compete at the top level.

Roddick added that in Wimbledon’s best-of-five-set format, Djokovic statistically still has a strong chance against younger players Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.

“Novak at 6 to 1 odds? That’s a great number for him. I think he’s closer to Sinner and Alcaraz in the best-of-five format at Wimbledon,” Roddick said via Tennis Channel.

Meanwhile, Djokovic himself admits Wimbledon is his best chance to add another Grand Slam title. Although he hasn’t confirmed playing any grass tournaments before Wimbledon, reports say he plans to compete in the exhibition event The Boodles to prepare.
