An Ye-rim prepares for new role at Red Sparks next season

According to MyDaily, An Ye-rim from Daejeon JungKwanJang Red Sparks will undergo a playing position change ahead of the 2025-2026 Korean Volleyball League season.

Coach Ko Hee-jin observed her player’s performance in the Professional Volleyball Future Championship 2025 — where Red Sparks suffered a 2-3 defeat against GS Caltex Seoul KIXX in Danyang.

The position change from setter to middle blocker is based on An Ye-rim’s physical advantage of being 181 cm tall — making her the tallest setter in the team.

“The coach recommended it to me,” stated An Ye-rim after the match.

An Ye-rim’s experience in helping team’s blocking defense since last season became an additional consideration for this position change.
