An Se-young Unbeaten at 2025 Sudirman Cup in Xiamen

An Se-young, the world number one in women’s singles, delivered a flawless performance at the 2025 Sudirman Cup held in Xiamen, even though South Korea fell short in the final against China.

The 23-year-old star won all five of her matches in straight games, including a commanding 21-17, 21-16 win over Wang Zhi Yi in the final.

This achievement was particularly meaningful as it marked her first-ever win in a team championship final, after previous losses in the 2022 Uber Cup and 2023 Sudirman Cup.

What makes her run even more remarkable is that she extended her unbeaten streak to 25-0 against other women’s singles players in 2025 — a strong comeback after struggling with injuries in late 2023.
