According to a PBSI release, the Indonesian badminton team has started preparations at Ningbo Olympic Sports Center, China — the venue for the Asian Championships 2025 starting tomorrow.

The Indonesian contingent has sent 19 representatives for this continental tournament — with the initial training session lasting 120 minutes to adapt to the court conditions.

Alwi Farhan got his debut opportunity after Anthony Sinisuka Ginting withdrew due to injury. This tournament offers points equivalent to BWF World Tour Super 1000 — crucial for Alwi’s world ranking, which currently stands at position 37.

“Today’s first training session focused on condition recovery and court situation assessment, and thankfully it went quite smoothly,” stated Alwi Farhan.

The upcoming Asian Championships will be an important opportunity for Alwi Farhan—to improve his world ranking, especially with the absence of Ginting.

As the competition heats up, all eyes will be on the Indonesian team’s performance—hoping for strong showings across all categories.

The results from this event could play a significant role in shaping the team’s prospects for the year ahead—with players aiming to secure key points and momentum for the BWF World Tour.
