Alwi Farhan Advances to Thailand Open Round of 16 After Intense Battle

Alwi Farhan progressed to the round of 16 at the Thailand Open 2025 following a hard-fought victory over Priyanshu Rajawat of India, according to PBSI. The intense match, held at Nimibutr Arena, Thailand, ended with scores of 21-13, 17-21, 21-16.

The final game saw dramatic moments as Alwi’s commanding 11-4 lead was nearly erased when Rajawat closed the gap to 13-14. However, the Indonesian shuttler managed to regain composure and seal the win.

Gratitude and Reflection After Milestone Win

“First and foremost, I thank God that I could play well today and win the match without any injuries,” said Alwi in a post-match interview.

“No first match is easy, Rajawat played very well, but in the end I managed to control the game’s rhythm and secure the victory.”

This victory is a milestone for the 19-year-old, marking his first appearance in the round of 16 at a BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament — a promising sign for Indonesia’s next badminton star.
