Alwi Farhan advances to Japan Open round of 16 after defeating Lee Chia Hao

Alwi Farhan made an impressive debut at Japan Open 2025 — the Indonesian singles player defeated Lee Chia Hao from Taiwan at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium.

The player from Surakarta displayed a dominant performance with a score of 21-18, 21-11 — defeating the All England Open 2025 finalist in the match held in Tokyo, Japan.

“First, I thank God Alhamdulillah for being able to make my Japan Open debut with maximum results in the first round,” said Alwi Farhan.

“Today’s key to victory was emotional control and focus that I had to maintain so I could play more calmly and better capitalize on opponent’s mistakes,” he added.

With this victory, Alwi Farhan advances to the round of 16 in the BWF World Tour Super 750 tournament — ready to face the next challenge in this prestigious competition.
