Álvaro Morata set to join Como in Italian Serie A

According to ESPN sources, striker Álvaro Morata is set to join Serie A club Como — a new move for the 32-year-old Spain international after spending six months at Galatasaray.

Morata’s career path has seen several changes — he left Atlético Madrid for AC Milan last season, but after a coaching change left him out of team plans, he was loaned to Galatasaray in February.

At Como, the striker will join coach Cesc Fabregas who led the team to a 10th-place finish in their first season back in Serie A. The club already has several Spanish players — including recent recruit Jesús Rodriguez from Real Betis.

“I regret leaving Atlético for Milan last season,” Morata stated earlier this year.

The move to Como will be Morata’s seventh senior club, having started his career at Real Madrid’s academy before playing for Juventus, Chelsea, Atlético Madrid, and Galatasaray. The reported arrival of Victor Osimhen at the Turkish club means reduced playing opportunities for Morata.
