Alonso Optimistic About Aston Martin Updates Ahead of British GP

Fernando Alonso has given a positive assessment of Aston Martin AMR25’s latest updates ahead of the British GP at Silverstone, as reported by Motorsport.com.

Aston Martin CEO Andy Cowell revealed that the car has been equipped with a new floor and top bodywork — the final planned update for the 2025 season.

“This is probably it in terms of 2025 updates. We’ve completed our final scheduled wind tunnel run on the AMR25,” Cowell explained.

The Spanish veteran secured ninth position in qualifying but will start from seventh — thanks to penalties received by Andrea Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Bearman.

“The upgrades were tested with slight advantage to the new package, but small. It took time to analyse the data and see the differences,” said Alonso.

Looking ahead to tomorrow’s race, Alonso is mindful of several challengers:

  • Williams showing improved pace
  • Tsunoda starting from P11
  • Antonelli remaining a challenge

“The car felt good in the long run yesterday, and so did the tires,” added the 43-year-old driver while remaining optimistic about scoring points in the British GP.
