Alexander Bublik Wins Second Halle Open Title After Milestone Victory Over Medvedev

Jakarta – In a powerful and composed display, Alexander Bublik shocked world No. 5 Daniil Medvedev to claim the Halle Open 2025 title, winning 6-3, 7-6(4) in a performance that solidifies his rising reputation on grass courts.

The 27-year-old Kazakh, known for his unpredictable yet brilliant style of play, dictated much of the match with his aggressive serve-and-volley game and signature drop shots. Bublik saved all four break points he faced and kept Medvedev guessing throughout a tense second set, which he sealed in a tight tiebreak.

This marks Bublik’s second career title at Halle, following his triumph in 2023, and his fourth ATP singles title overall. With this win, he becomes only the third player to defeat Medvedev in straight sets on grass since 2021.

“It’s always special to win in Halle. Daniil is an incredible player, and I had to be at my best from start to finish,” said Bublik during the trophy ceremony.

The victory provides key momentum for Bublik ahead of Wimbledon 2025, where he now enters as a dangerous dark horse with proven grass-court credentials.
