Alex Palou Claims Pole Position at Monterey IndyCar Grand Prix

Alex Palou demonstrated his dominance by securing pole position at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca — setting a time of 1:07.3413 in qualifying for the Java House Grand Prix of Monterey.

“It felt amazing. Honestly, the car has been amazing. All practice sessions I felt like we had a ton of pace, like all year. Everyone at CGR has been doing a tremendous job,” stated Palou.

Pato O’Ward from Arrow McLaren claimed second position with a 0.2867-second gap — his first front row start since earning pole at The Thermal Club in April.

The Fast 6 featured prominent names:
* Colton Herta in third
* Josef Newgarden in fourth
* Will Power in fifth
* David Malukas in sixth

An incident occurred when Felix Rosenqvist lost control at turn 5 — resulting in his fastest time being deleted for impeding Christian Rasmussen’s lap.

Morning practice was cancelled due to weather conditions affecting medical helicopter operations. Warm-up has been rescheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. ET, while the race will begin tomorrow at 3 p.m. ET broadcast live on FOX.
