Alex Marquez Claims Maiden MotoGP Victory In Jerez After Long Wait

A Long-Awaited Triumph

After 93 races in the premier class, Alex Marquez finally secured his first MotoGP victory at the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez—fittingly matching his brother Marc Marquez’s iconic number 93.

Rising Through Consistency

Riding for Gresini Ducati, Alex has showcased outstanding form in the 2025 season. He has claimed nine podium finishes in the first ten races and now leads the championship with 140 points after five rounds.

A Different Racing Philosophy

Unlike the aggressive and high-risk approach associated with his older brother Marc, Alex adopts a more calculated and steady strategy.

“Alex is doing what he has done all his life, and he is doing it very well. He struggles more than Marc to get going, but when he masters the tools at his disposal, he’s very reliable,” said Davide Tardozzi, factory Ducati team manager.

Dominance in Jerez

The Jerez weekend highlighted Alex’s peak form. Despite two crashes on Friday, he managed to set a new lap record. He followed that by finishing second in the sprint race and went on to secure a dominant win in the main race on Sunday.

A Brotherly Moment

After the main race, Marc Marquez—who crashed early and finished 12th—rushed to parc ferme to congratulate Alex with a heartfelt embrace, marking an emotional moment for both the Marquez brothers and MotoGP fans worldwide.
