Alex Marquez hopes to compete in German GP despite hand injury

Alex Marquez of Gresini Ducati team — currently second in the 2025 MotoGP standings — plans to compete in this weekend’s German GP, despite suffering a hand injury during the last race in Netherlands.

Following surgery and recovery period after the Assen crash, Marquez must pass medical examination this Thursday to receive clearance for racing at Sachsenring Circuit.

Meanwhile, Luca Marini confirms his return to racing after missing three consecutive races due to an accident during Suzuka 8 Hours testing.

“The test in Brno last week went well and I could understand my physical condition. Though not perfect yet, the best way to improve performance is by racing,” stated Marini in an announcement shared by Honda.

Less favorable news comes from Somkiat Chantra — the Thai rider who just scored his first MotoGP point at Assen. He will miss the next two races due to right knee ligament injury during off-road bike training. Takaaki Nakagami will replace him at Czech GP, while his position at German GP will remain vacant.
