Alex Criville: Bagnaia No Longer Main Threat to Marquez in 2025 MotoGP

Alex Criville, a former MotoGP world champion, believes Francesco Bagnaia is no longer the biggest threat to Marc Marquez in the race for the 2025 MotoGP world title, according to Bolasport.com.

Bagnaia’s mixed results in Aragon

At the recently concluded Aragon GP at MotorLand Aragon, Spain, Bagnaia finished third after 23 laps — finally securing his first podium since failing to score points in both the French and British GPs.

The 28-year-old Ducati rider struggled throughout the race weekend. After a disappointing qualifying session, he managed to start from fourth on the grid. However, his pace faded during the sprint race, where he fell to 12th place despite a strong starting position.

Signs of pressure on Bagnaia

The 2022 and 2023 MotoGP world champion appeared visibly frustrated following the 11-lap sprint race. His body language and post-race comments indicated a rider still trying to regain form and confidence as the 2025 season heats up.

“He’s not riding with the same authority as before. Others are stepping up,” Criville noted.

Meanwhile, Marc Marquez continues to improve race by race, establishing himself as the standout title contender.
