Alex Bowman delivered an impressive performance at Homestead-Miami Speedway — continuing his strong start to the 2025 season. NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon, now serving as Hendrick Motorsports vice chairman, watched from the No. 48 pit box.

After securing pole position, Bowman remained consistently in the front pack throughout the race and led for 43 laps. However, his teammate Kyle Larson claimed victory — capitalizing when Bowman made contact with the outside wall with six laps remaining.

“I think their performance all weekend was really solid with the pole and great pit stops. They were basically in the top five all day and led a bunch of laps,” Gordon said during the post-race press conference.

“When you’re leading at the end and competing for wins, that does a lot for a race team. We saw this team’s momentum building since the end of last season and hope they can build on that and carry it into this season.”

Bowman faces high expectations among accomplished teammates — two NASCAR Cup Series champions and a two-time Daytona 500 winner. The 31-year-old driver has also endured serious injuries, including a concussion in late 2022 and a vertebra fracture months later.

Gordon emphasized that the organization has worked hard to ensure Bowman receives full support, including strengthening the No. 48 team from within. The results show with Bowman currently sitting third in the standings — recording five top-five finishes in the first six races this season.
