Aldila Sutjiadi and Hozumi Set for Quarter-Final Clash at Eastbourne Open

Jakarta – Indonesia’s Aldila Sutjiadi and her Japanese doubles partner Eri Hozumi are through to the quarter-finals of the 2025 WTA 250 Eastbourne Open, where they will face home favorites Harriet Dart and Maia Lumsden on Wednesday (local time).

Seeded second in the tournament, Aldila/Hozumi kicked off their Eastbourne campaign with a hard-fought win over Kamilla Rakhimova (Russia) and Anna Siskova (Czech Republic), edging past their opponents 7-5, 3-6, [10-8] in a nail-biting match tiebreak.

“We started strong, but the match became really tight and intense. The super tiebreak was nerve-wracking, but we’re happy we pushed through,” Aldila said in a written statement on Tuesday (June 24).

The 30-year-old Indonesian player also praised her partner’s resilience:

“Thank you, Eri, for always bringing your energy and fighting spirit. And thanks to everyone for the continued support. Let’s keep going!”

Their next opponents, the British pair Dart/Lumsden, reached the last eight after a convincing 6-3, 6-2 win over Angelica Moratelli (Italy) and Sabrina Santamaria (USA) in straight sets.

This tournament marks Aldila’s 14th event of the 2025 season. Her standout achievements so far include winning the ITF WTT W100 title alongside Olivia Gadecki (Australia) and lifting the trophy at the WTA 125 Catalonia Open with Bianca Andreescu (Canada).

Aldila and Hozumi resumed their doubles partnership at Eastbourne following strong showings earlier this month, where they reached the semifinals at the WTA 250 Libema Open and the quarterfinals at the WTA 250 Nottingham Open.

Now back on grass, the experienced duo will be aiming to go even further at the prestigious tournament as Wimbledon approaches.
