Al Nassr parts ways with Stefano Pioli after trophyless season

Al Nassr, the elite Saudi Arabian club, officially announced the termination of cooperation with coach Stefano Pioli on Wednesday (25/6/2025) — before his original contract expired.

“Al Nassr announces that Mister Pioli and his staff are no longer serving as the coaching team for the main squad. We want to express our gratitude for their hard work and dedication throughout the past season,” stated the club’s official announcement.

The Italian coach replaced Luis Castro in September 2024 — lasting only about 280 days at the club led by Cristiano Ronaldo. During his leadership, Al Nassr failed to secure any titles and only finished third in the 2024-2025 Saudi Pro League.

The Faris Najd team’s achievements in other competitions were also underwhelming — Super Cup runners-up, elimination in the Saudi King’s Cup round of 16, and only reaching the Elite Champions League semifinals.
