Al Nassr parts ways with coach Stefano Pioli ahead of Ronaldo’s contract expiration

Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr — where Cristiano Ronaldo plays — is now without a coach after Stefano Pioli left his position, with speculation that the Italian manager will return to Fiorentina.

Through a social media post, Al Nassr confirmed — “Pioli and his staff are no longer part of the first team coaching staff.”

Before joining Al Nassr, Pioli had an impressive track record in Italy — coaching Fiorentina for two seasons until 2019 and successfully leading AC Milan to a Serie A title.

Al Nassr, owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, is still seeking their first domestic league title since 2019. The club has changed three permanent coaches since Ronaldo’s arrival two and a half years ago.

The team will compete in the Asian Champions League next season after finishing third in the Saudi Pro League — a status achieved through winning a legal case regarding an opponent’s use of an ineligible player.
