Al Hilal eliminates Man City from Club World Cup in seven-goal drama

Al Hilal achieved a historic milestone for Asian football — the Saudi Arabian team managed to eliminate Manchester City in the round of 16 of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

The match at Camping World Stadium, Orlando, last night ended in a thrilling seven-goal drama — showcasing early dominance from Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Citizens controlled the first half with 69 percent possession and recorded nine attempts on goal — in stark contrast to Al Hilal who only managed a third of those statistics.

The first threat came from Ruben Dias’s header in the sixth minute which was saved by goalkeeper Yassine Bounou. Three minutes later, Bernardo Silva opened City’s scoring through a controversial close-range finish.
