Agent Confirms Sporting Open to Viktor Gyökeres Transfer Below €100M Clause

Sporting CP is reportedly open to allowing Viktor Gyökeres to leave the club for a fee lower than his official €100 million release clause, according to the player’s agent, Hasan Cetinkaya.

In a statement to the media, Cetinkaya claimed that Sporting has given a formal commitment regarding the striker’s potential departure.

“We have written proof that Sporting has promised Gyökeres. They will let him go for €60 million plus €10 million in performance-based add-ons,” said Cetinkaya.

Gyökeres joined the Lisbon-based club from Coventry City in 2023 for a reported fee of €24 million. Since then, the 26-year-old Swedish international has become a standout figure in the Primeira Liga, earning widespread attention for his physical presence, finishing ability, and high work rate.

In the 2024–2025 season, Gyökeres recorded 43 goals and 15 assists across all competitions, helping lead Sporting to a domestic title and a deep run in Europe.

With several top clubs across Europe’s top five leagues monitoring his situation, Sporting’s willingness to negotiate a transfer fee below the clause could accelerate formal approaches in the coming weeks.

Gyökeres is currently under contract until June 2028.
