After 15 years, Matias Ibo rejoins Indonesian national team

Matias Ibo — who was previously part of the Indonesian national team squad at the 2010 AFF Cup — has now rejoined the national team as performance manager for Indonesia U-23 team for ASEAN Cup U-23 2025.

Matias Ibo’s career journey with the Indonesian national team has undergone a significant transformation — from his position as physical therapist 15 years ago to now bearing greater responsibility in team performance development.

“AFF Cup 2010 as physical therapist. AFF U-23 Cup 2025 as performance manager,” wrote Matias Ibo through his personal Instagram account on Monday.

His presence in the national team marks a new chapter in his contribution to Indonesian football — this time focusing on the development of the U-23 team competing in the ASEAN Cup U-23 2025.
