AFC names Qatar and Saudi Arabia as hosts for 2026 World Cup playoff

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) through official letter number 59/2025 — has designated Qatar and Saudi Arabia as hosts for the fourth round of 2026 World Cup Asian Zone Qualifiers.

Erick Thohir as PSSI Chairman is focusing on preparing the Indonesian National Team for the playoff round scheduled for October.

Six nations will battle for two automatic tickets to the final round:

• Indonesian National Team
• Iraq
• Oman
• Qatar
• Saudi Arabia
• United Arab Emirates

Erick Thohir has stated his acceptance of AFC’s decision regarding the host appointment — which will determine Indonesian National Team’s fate towards the 2026 World Cup.
