The recently concluded ESL Snapdragon Pro Series 2025 has raised critical questions for Indonesian MLBB Pro League ID teams, particularly Onic ID, under head coach Adi “Adi” Asyauri, who failed to make a huge impact.

Despite a dominant start in the early stages of the tournament, the Yellow Porcupines collapsed on the final day of the group stage, suffering a critical loss to Aurora Turkey. The slump carried on into the playoffs, where they were unexpectedly eliminated by Team Liquid ID.

This downward spiral has intensified scrutiny from Onic ID’s ardent fans, who question the team’s ability to perform in high-stakes matches. Compounding the criticism, the squad faces similar struggles in the ongoing MPL ID Season 15, with fans flooding social media and pointing their fingers at Adi for the team’s tactical shortcomings.

The 32-year-old coach is no stranger to backlash. During his tenure with RRQ Hoshi (2022–2023), he was scapegoated for similar issues. While critics target his leadership, some analysts defend him, arguing that the current roster’s execution—not strategy—is the root of the problem.

Popular streamer Ade Setiawan recently weighed in during a livestream, arguing that Adi’s draft strategies aren’t the issue and players should have practiced these strategies long before the tournament. He urged Onic ID to overhaul its roster, warning that without immediate changes, the team risks dropping into the elimination zone for the first time in MPL ID history.

MPL ID Season 15 resumes on Friday, April 18, with Onic ID currently ranked 7th—just one match loss away from joining Geek Fam and Dewa United Esports in the elimination bracket.
