Ade Expresses Doubts Ahead of Evos vs RRQ Hoshi’s Showdown

Former professional player and popular streamer Ade Setiawan expressed skepticism about the upcoming classic derby of Evos vs RRQ Hoshi, set to take place on the second day of Week 7 in MPL ID Season 15 this Saturday (10/5).

The two teams previously clashed in Leg 1 of the tournament on April 19. Despite delivering an impressive performance, Evos failed to counter RRQ’s strategic draft and ultimately lost the match 1-2.

Since that defeat, the Blue Tigers have spiraled into a slump. Across Weeks 5 and 6, they only managed a single victory—a win against Onic ID—while suffering defeats in all other series. Despite high expectations surrounding the high-profile Jabran “Branz” Bagus and Nicodemus “Natco” Dustin, the duo’s integration into the roster has yet to translate into major improvements.

This string of poor results has dropped Evos down to seventh place in the provisional standings, putting their playoff qualification in serious jeopardy. Ade, who witnessed their regression, admitted he holds little hope for his former team’s upcoming rematch against RRQ—especially if they fail to adapt to their opponents’ drafting strategies.

The M1 World Championship champion further emphasized that RRQ is not the only major obstacle for Evos as they scramble for points in the final three weeks. The team will also face Onic ID, which recently showcased an impressive gameplay after reinstating legendary coach Paul “Yeb” Denver as head coach.
