Aaron Ramsey officially joins Liga MX club Pumas

According to The Associated Press, Aaron Ramsey has officially joined Liga MX club Pumas — marking a new chapter in his career after previously representing Arsenal, Juventus, and Cardiff City.

The 34-year-old midfielder arrived in Mexico City last Tuesday for medical examinations — having already secured his work visa to play in Liga MX.

“I’m excited to play and to be a part of this historic club, I can’t wait to be on the pitch,” stated Ramsey upon arrival at Mexico City airport.

Pumas — one of Mexico’s four most popular clubs but without a title since the 2011 Clausura tournament — secured the Wales captain’s signing with help from coach Efraín Juárez.

“I’ve seen some matches from Liga MX and I am very impressed, there are some really good squads here and I’m excited to be in this competition,” added Ramsey.

The player with 86 caps for Wales will soon begin his Mexican adventure in the Liga MX Apertura starting July 11, and is set to face Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in the Leagues Cup on August 6.
