Aaron Long LAFC suffers Achilles injury, out for rest of season

LAFC and US national team defender Aaron Long has undergone surgery for a ruptured left Achilles — the team confirms the operation was successful.

The injury occurred in the 76th minute during LAFC’s 2-0 victory over FC Dallas — forcing the 32-year-old player to miss the remainder of the 2025 season.

Before the injury, Long had started all 15 LAFC matches this season and scored one goal. In total, he has made 60 starts across three seasons with the club.

The player who has earned 35 caps with the US national team has captained the side five times — including appearances at the 2022 World Cup with his last national team showing at the 2023 Gold Cup.

LAFC currently sits sixth in the MLS Western Conference standings with 9 wins, 5 losses, and 5 draws.
