Another Malaysian pair, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik, coached by Indonesian coach, Herry Iman Pierngadi, rose to third in the world after clinching the Thailand Open 2025 title.

Their victory pushed down the Chinese pair Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang and Indonesian duo Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto in the rankings.

Setback for Indonesian Contenders

Fajar/Rian fell to fifth position after a disappointing exit in the Thailand Open 2025 semifinals, losing to unseeded Danish pair William Kryger Boe/Christian Faust Kjaer with scores of 13-21, 12-21.

Meanwhile, Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi showed steady progress, moving up one spot to seventh, despite ending their run in the quarterfinals.
