Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik advance to China Open 2025 quarterfinals

Malaysian doubles pair Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik — coached by Herry Iman Pierngadi — successfully advanced to the China Open 2025 quarterfinals after winning in straight games at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Changzhou.

The 2025 Asian Champions defeated the duo of Christo Popov/Toma Junior Popov with scores of 21-17, 21-18 in today’s round of 16 match.

In the first game, Chia/Soh maintained control of the match — despite tight battles at 5-3, 9-8, and 11-10 — eventually securing the win.

The second game proved crucial as the Malaysian pair demonstrated champion mentality — overcoming a four-point deficit — to secure their quarterfinal spot without needing a rubber game.
