Red Sparks face new challenge after Korean Volleyball League finals

Daejeon JungKwanJang Red Sparks – coached by Ko Hee-jin – face a major challenge for next season after heavily depending on the duo of Vanja Bukilic and Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi.

Red Sparks‘ journey in the 2024-2025 Korean Volleyball League ended in the finals with a 2-3 aggregate loss to Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders, led by Kim Yeon-koung. Despite failing to secure the title, the team showed remarkable resilience – particularly considering key players’ injuries before the finals.

The Megawati-Bukilic partnership proved crucial throughout the season. The volleyball player from Jember impressed with 153 points during the final series, while Bukilic consistently provided support as an outside hitter.
