Club Brugge vs Rangers: Champions League Qualification Prediction (27.08.2025)

Rangers

Rangers started their Champions League qualification journey in the second round, easily eliminating Panathinaikos – a 2:0 win in Glasgow followed by a 1:1 draw in Athens. Next came Viktoria Plzeň. At Ibrox, the Czech side looked helpless and lost 0:3, essentially ending their hopes. The return leg in the Czech Republic turned into a serious test for Martin Russell’s men: despite having 59% possession (against 41%), Rangers were heavily outshot – 27 attempts to 9, and 10 on target versus their 2. They lost 1:2 on the night, but their comfortable first-leg advantage saw them through to the next round.

Against Brugge, however, Rangers lost by two goals in the first leg. The bigger issue is that this defeat came at home, where the Scots traditionally perform more confidently.
