Tsunoda Disappointed with Belgian GP Result Due to Communication Error

Yuki Tsunoda experienced a disappointing result at the Belgian GP — the Red Bull driver only managed to finish 13th at the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit.

The problems began with poor communication with the team regarding pit stop timing. The race started behind the safety car with all drivers on intermediate tires — making the timing of the first pit stop crucial.

“Yes, there was a miscommunication and his speed was also not good,” explained Helmut Marko to Motorsport.com.

“Very frustrating, it already started from a miscommunication for the tire change. They called me at a late moment, just after the pit entry. For one lap at this long track is very decisive, and unfortunately, I lost that opportunity,” stated Tsunoda.

The 25-year-old driver now sits 17th in the drivers’ standings with 10 points — far behind teammate Max Verstappen who holds third place with 185 points. Meanwhile, Oscar Piastri leads the championship with 266 points followed by Lando Norris in second with 250 points.
