Lucy Bronze reveals severe injury during Euro 2025

Lucy Bronze revealed a shocking fact after helping England retain their European Championship title — she played throughout the tournament with a fractured tibia.

The England defensive stalwart was exceptional at Euro 2025 — making significant contributions to the team’s successful defense of their title won three years ago.

Despite the serious injury, Bronze maintained an impressive performance — scoring the decisive penalty against Sweden in the quarter-finals before being forced off during extra time in the final against Spain.

“I have actually played the whole tournament with a fractured tibia, and then I have hurt my knee on my other leg,” Bronze told BBC. “That’s why I got a lot of praise from the girls after the Sweden game, as I’ve been in a lot of pain.”

Bronze now holds the record for most appearances in major tournaments for England — totaling 36 matches.
