Belgian GP Start Delayed due to Poor Weather at Spa-Francorchamps Circuit

Formula 1 race control has issued a red flag for the Belgian GP — poor weather conditions at Spa-Francorchamps circuit forced the start delay.

Drivers began the formation lap using Pirelli intermediate tires, but limited visibility and thick spray behind the safety car created dangerous conditions. Lando Norris in the lead position — even reported difficulty seeing the safety car.

“Most drivers have reported poor visibility during the formation lap, hence the red flag,” explained an FIA spokesperson.

Though rain had stopped at the scheduled 15:00 start time, race control awaits better conditions. Earlier in the day — the F3 race was cancelled due to extreme conditions, while F2 race was completed in wet conditions.
