Bruno Fernandes Becomes Man United’s Hero in Preseason Match

Bruno Fernandes delivered an outstanding performance with two goals as Manchester United defeated West Ham 2-1 in a preseason match at MetLife Stadium, New Jersey.

The 30-year-old Portuguese midfielder — who turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal in June — proved his value to the team by converting a penalty and scoring a brilliant shot from outside the box.

Coach Ruben Amorim emphasized the crucial nature of Fernandes’ decision to stay at Old Trafford. “You can see his contribution through assists and goals. Now he has more players helping him lead the group — that’s a positive thing,” Amorim stated.

In the 3-4-3 formation, Amorim positioned Fernandes in the number 10 role alongside new signing Matheus Cunha, supported by Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte in midfield. However, the coach acknowledged that Fernandes sometimes becomes too eager to help his teammates, losing focus on his own role.
