Wang Zheng Xing advances to China Open final after defeating Antonsen

Wang Zheng Xing has advanced to the China Open 2025 final after defeating Denmark’s Anders Antonsen at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Changzhou.

The 23-year-old player showed dominance — securing victory in straight games in the Super 1000 tournament semifinals.

At the match start, Wang scored the first point through a long 23-shot rally — but Antonsen quickly leveled the score to 1-1.

Despite trailing 2-6, Wang’s aggressive play helped him equalize and take the lead at 7-6. The intense battle continued until 8-8, before Wang capitalized on Antonsen’s mistakes to pull ahead 10-8.

Wang’s advantage continued into the interval at 11-8 — and after the break, the Chinese player showed increasing dominance, causing Antonsen to frustratingly drop his racket at 14-10.

This victory ensures the Chinese contingent will secure three titles in this tournament — having already guaranteed all-Chinese finals in mixed doubles and women’s doubles.
