Muhammad Ardiansyah performs better than Ernando Ari in ASEAN Cup penalties

Muhammad Ardiansyah demonstrates a more convincing performance compared to Ernando Ari in the ASEAN Cup U-23 2025 penalty shootout. Both goalkeepers drew attention — after Indonesia U-23 team faced penalty drama in two consecutive tournament editions.

In the previous edition, Ernando Ari, who was 21 years old at the time, guarded Indonesia U-23’s goal in the final against Vietnam. The Persebaya goalkeeper initially showed impressive performance — successfully stopping Vietnam’s penalty kick in normal time that ended 0-0 through extra time.

However, fate took a different turn when Ernando was trusted as the sixth penalty taker in the shootout. His attempt was saved by Vietnam’s goalkeeper — causing Indonesia to concede the championship trophy.

Now in ASEAN Cup U-23 2025, Indonesia U-23 team has a new goalkeeper — Muhammad Ardiansyah who is ready to take over this vital role.
